I am going to be a high school teacher in history and I wanted to use technology in my classroom because technology is becoming the new go-to tool for this century. I found this classroom online and it has computers that pop up on the students desks when the student wants to start using the internet or technology resources. If we are going over a lecture or something then the computers will be put down and then they will have a normal desk. In every row there will be 4 students to a table and whenever we work in groups the 4 people at a table will be in the group. Also, whenever we aren't using the students computers we will be utilizing the Interactive White Board that is located in front of the class.
I will be using some colors in my classroom and it will be a different color for each wall. I will also be hanging up posters and maps on the walls as well. I couldn't put the color in the picture of my classroom because I found this classroom on the internet. I researched that colors can make people very happy and calm. I will have a wall that will have a color that makes students happy and it will be at the front of the room where every one will be looking at all times. I will have a calming color on another wall where if a student is getting stressed out about all the work that needs to be done then he/she will go to that place where they can calm down and relax.
The IWB will be incorporated a lot during my lectures because I want my students to use the technology to their advantage and get familiar with their generation. IWB are basically replacing the chalkboards which is something that I grew up learning off of. IWB are really interesting to use and students can learn to interact with the lesson and their classmates, instead of sitting in the back of the room and staying quiet the entire class.
I will also be using twitter to interact with the students that don't make it to class because they are sick or just can't make it to class that day. I will also be using twitter to interact with the parents of my students. I know how parents these days don't really like to go to the parent teacher meetings and now they won't have to because I will schedule a time and day where we all just log on to twitter and we will conduct the parent teacher conference on there.
